Activities

Day1: Nairobi - Masai Mara National Park Pick up from your hotel at 0730 hrs. a safari briefing session with our tour consultant then drive to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve  enjoying the spectacular scenic views of the Great Rift Valley - Maasai Mara game reserve situated in Kenya,  borders Tanzania’s  Serengeti National Park , and is one of Kenya's most favored game-viewing areas. The reserve covers 700 square miles of magnificent wilderness. In the afternoon, you will enjoy game viewing drive and see the sundowner as you trail the Big 5 i.e. Lions in large prides, Elephants, buffalos, zebras and numerous plain game. Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Enchoro, David Livingstone Ltd, Sidai Camp or similar facility.

Day 2: Maasai Mara game reserve A full day is spent exploring the park in search of the big 5.Morning and afternoon game drives are offered. Optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 585 per person which has to be booked earlier, meaning that it has to be included in the safari package. You will enjoy your Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Enchoro or Sidai Camp or similar facility. The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania), followed on their heels by the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures

Day 3: Maasai Mara - Lake Nakuru National park. Depart from the camp soon after breakfast and proceed to Lake Nakuru National park. Have lunch at Lake Nakuru guest house then proceed for afternoon game drives at Lake Nakuru, a shallow alkaline lake in the Rift Valley, renowned for its spectacular flamingo population as one of the world's greatest ornithological spectacles. Although Lake Nakuru is primarily a bird sanctuary, there are a considerable number of animals to be encountered, such as many large game animals like the zebras, elephants, and gazelles and if we are fortunate enough, we may also see rhinos. Lake Nakuru National Park was the first place in Kenya selected as a rhino reserve. Here is one of the few places where we can see Rothschild's giraffes. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru guest house or similar facility.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Nairobi. Depart from the Lake Nakuru national Park and proceed to Nairobi hotel for overnight stay. This evening you have enough time to explore the city. Please ask for a Guided tour from your hotel. For those anxious of a night experience, Nairobi offers some of the best Night clubs with traditional and live concerts. Day 5: Nairobi  – Amboseli Depart soon after breakfast and drive to Amboseli national park via Nairobi with packed picnic lunches. Afternoon game drives then proceed to Kibo safari camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Amboseli National park is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya. It is situated close to Kenya- Tanzania border, The Park lies at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa (5,896m) whose snow-capped summit presents a splendid view on clear days. Amboseli National Park is often referred to as “The home of Elephants’ some of the largest Elephant herds are found here, straying from the Kilimanjaro National Park for leisure and/or sun tanning. The Game Park also contains vast groups of Zebras, Wildebeests, Giraffes, Buffalos, Hippos and Antelopes. Also to be found in Amboseli are lions, leopards, Cheetahs, Rhinos and many species of plain game.

Day 6: Amboseli - Lake Manyara After your early morning breakfast then proceed for morning game drives, exit the park and drive into Tanzania via the Namanga border. We also pass through Arusha to Lake Manyara National park, enjoying our lunch en-route. Regardless of the direction we approach Lake Manyara from; the view is always fantastically beautiful. We proceed to a campsite for dinner and overnight stay.

Lake Manyara is a shallow, alkaline lake which is part of the Rift Valley wall and,  is situated at the base of the dramatic western escarpment giving it a beautiful and serene setting. In addition to this peaceful setting, Lake Manyara’s main attractions are its rich bird life, tree climbing lions and its hippos, which you can see at a closer range than from many other places. Lake Manyara also hosts thousands of flamingos at all the times of the year and has diverse vegetation ranging from savannah, to marshes and acacia woodland, enabling a variety of wildlife habitats including butterflies.

Day 7: Lake Manyara - Serengeti National park Morning game drives at Lake Manyara National park then proceed to Serengeti national park. Game is viewed as we proceed to the campsite for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8:Serengeti National park National park Full day spent exploring the park.

Serengeti is Africa’s most famous and Tanzania’s largest park covering 14,736 sq km and is adjoining the Maasai Mara National reserve in Kenya. With a wildebeest population of about 2 million and several other hoofed species (which include zebra, Thomson’s gazelle, impala, topi, Grants gazelle, Kongoni, Eland, Kirk’s dik- dik, klipspringer, roan, Oryx, oribi, waterbuck, buffalo, giraffe and warthog), the Serengeti is sure to attract a string of prey such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, golden jackals and bat eared foxes. Elephants are relatively many and the few remaining black rhinoceros are restricted to special areas to keep them away from poachers. Serengeti also offers rewarding bird viewing with ostrich and kori bustard being common, a variety of larks, finches, and raptors can be seen but the most distinctive small bird is the lilac breasted roller.

Day 9:Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater After an early breakfast, we drive south to the magnificent Ngorongoro crater, enter into the crater for a full day crater tour with packed lunches, ascend the crater and drive to Simba campsite or similar facility for dinner and overnight stay. The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s largest whole volcanic caldera at 8300 sq km and is arguably the most stunning arena. It is frequently described as one of the wonders of the world, not only because of its geological magnificence, but also because it serves as an extraordinary natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s largest populations of large mammals. Day 10: Ngorongoro- Tarangire national park Break the camp soon after breakfast and drive to Tarangire national park – lunch then proceed for afternoon game drives. Dinner and overnight stay at a campsite. Herds of up to 300 elephants scratch the dry river bed for underground streams, while migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland crowd the shrinking lagoons. It's the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem - a smorgasbord for predators – and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed Day 11: Tarangire – Arusha Breakfast at leisure then drive to Arusha to arrive by 1200 hrs, board an afternoon shuttle bus to Nairobi to arrive by 1800 hrs. Drop off at the airport or drive to KIA, according to flight arrangements.
